A visual identity for Tea house

ABOUT

Harmony Tea House is a personal project. Despite working as a designer for a long time, I’m always dreaming of opening a Tea House where I’m able to feature my hometown’s tea. Vietnamese Tea is different from others due to our nature, the high land is not as high and cold as in China or Japan. Therefore, the taste of tea leaves is usually lighter, more delicate. Vietnamese tea is famous for producing green tea leaves and special method of preparing dried tea leaves inside flower (lotus is the most popular) overnight to let the leaves absorb fragrance from the flower.

PROCESS

Due to the specialty in tea leaves, my direction goes to the minimal visual style. This elegant style focus on the pattern illustrates ingredients inside the tea, as well highlights the product, and introduces the tea preparation methods.

The project starts with sketching a logo, studying Vietnamese tea culture, and delivering the illustration style.

Initially, the line pattern is developed with the purpose to use several printing materials. But after that, I realise a color version would work better, more appealing. So I keep both, the line version can be used on the tea bag or the backside of the label, the color version would make sense on the packaging

RESULT

The final results are logo, label design, and a set of illustrations for each flavour (currently in the incubation stage I have 4 flavors), and a website can be responsive on the mobile screen.

Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Figma.
